Die Wirtschaft der Republik Kongo
Die Republik Kongo verfügt über umfangreiche Ressourcen an Erdöl, tropischem Regenwald und landwirtschaftlich nutzbaren Flächen.
Der Importbedarf an Nahrungsmitteln ist sehr hoch. Diese werden bisher im wesentlichen aus Frankreich bezogen.
Das Honorarkonsulat Hannover ist jedoch sehr bemüht, auch Unternehmen aus seinem Amtsbezirk für Lieferungen in die Republik Kongo zu gewinnen.
Der zweitwichtigste Wirtschaftszweig in der Republik Kongo ist die Forstwirtschaft. Bereits im Jahr 2002 lag die Produktion bei fast 900.000 Tonnen.
Weitere wichtige Industrien sind Textil-, Zement- und chemische Industrie.
